Hello,
Here is the assignment of the first lab session with CentralSupélec engineering students which just ran today!
The topic is DC/DC conversion and it is done with an OwnVerter board + inductive filter:
(in French)
The session was 3 hours long. We didn’t cover the full assignment, only the beginning:
- Getting started with OwnTech board (programming with VSCode/PlatformIO): ~1 hour
- DC/DC conversion experiments in permanent regime: parametric study (effect of L, duty cycle, Vhigh): core of the student work. This include a quick comparison with a Simulink/Simscape circuit model
- Transients: in the last 15 minutes, the students manage to capture one duty cycle transient (i.e. exponential transient for the average current)
What was left out:
- average circuit model (also with Simscape), transfer function model
- voltage regulation with a PI controller (beyond the time issue, they haven’t had the PI control lecture yet…)
